I am a foodie

It's strange that the term "foodie" was coined in 1981, and people have described me with its definition since late 90's; that I just heard the word for the first time in 2011.

I'm taking my passion for food to another level, by sharing the photos of deliciousness with the world.

Sandy Ruined My Vacation

I had this entire week off as my vacation. Of course Sandy had to pay a visit on the first day.

She stole my electricity and cellphone signals, took away the gas from my town. I basically spent my entire vacation in total darkness staring into pitch black walls and ceilings. Worst vacation ever!

I was too tired from a whole week of doing nothing, so I didn't take any picture today. I took the following photos a few months back at a restaurant called Apiary in New York City.

HAMACHI CRUDO: w/ avocado, hearts of palm, jalapeno

Smoked Salmon: w/ poached egg, caviar

LONG ISLAND DUCK BREAST: w/ parsnip puree, farro, glazed tokyo turnips, green peppercorn-armagnac jus

BLACKBERRY FINANCIER

VANILLA PANNA COTTA: w/ raspberry coulis

WARM VALRHONA FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE: w/ vanilla ice cream

On the brink of insanity...

6 days of no power and no gas... and stared into pitch black walls and ceilings... I've discovered that my pocket LED flash light mounts on a microphone stand quite well.

Maybe I could do some reading... NOT!

It would be a perfect set up to read some horror stories.

Real Life Horror Movie

You think the stories in horror movies are scary? Imagine my life at the moment: no electricity, no heat, no internet, no phone and texting(cellphone towers are down too). Nightmare for the 21st century!

It's been 3 days since I started to live in the dark age and Halloween is now upon us, my room looks more like a horror movie setting than ever.

Can you see the ring girl hiding in the corner? I hope not!

I got lucky!

Sandy actually showed up, but I wasn't really grateful for her visit.

Whenever a hurricane/tropical storm hits, I'm always the first to lose power, and last to get it back. It just so happens to be my vacation; and I have to live through it like in the dark age.

Can you imagine a world without light, computer, internet, cellphone, texting and... Facebook? I'm living in it!

Big tree next to my car fell. Why Sandy why!!!??? What did that tree ever do to you???

I got lucky, but the car in front wasn't so...

I feel bad for the owner.

Thank god that tree fell the other way; almost had to say goodbye to my new car.

People on the street keep peeking. Do they think there's treasure in there or something?

This car was very lucky too, the fallen tree was stopped by the fence just inches away from the car.

Sandy Knows How to Tease

So here I am waiting for Sandy to show up, still no sign of her at 5am. I think I'll just go to bed, she's a big tease.

I should have spent all that time waiting to edit some photos instead. I took a few hundred shots last month in LA, during my brother's wedding.

Here's one, of the couple and the bride's parents:
